Dear experts: I’m a beginner who mainly works on custom design projects; this is my first time dealing with knowledge related to heat exchange. Please be kind to me! There is a device required to cool a tank containing approximately 6 m³ of water from 26°C to 12°C. Coils are used for this cooling process; the diameter of these coils is DN20. The temperature of the water inside the coils is around 7°C, while the pressure of the cooling water is approximately 0.25 MPa ; Without considering external environmental factors, what is the required coil area? Additionally, the cooling time is about 10–12 hours, during which the water inside the box does not flow. I would appreciate it if experts could help calculate the area of the heat exchange tubes required. Thank you all!

After a rough estimate, a coil heat exchange area of 15 m2 should be sufficient

For problems like this, it’s best to learn how to handle them first; otherwise, you will be the one to take responsibility. Complexity is necessary, but it’s not very difficult. Things like these can be attempted, but one must understand them thoroughly on their own; otherwise, the goal won’t be achieved or it will fail, and someone will have to take responsibility for the resulting losses.
