A few days ago, BOSS received a proposal from a client. Condition 1: Air preheater – flue gas flow rate of 35,000 Nm3/h; inlet temperature: 450°C; the calculated outlet temperature is 252°C. Air flow rate: 34,000 Nm3/h; inlet temperature: 25°C; outlet temperature: 260°C. Condition 2: Low-temperature economizer – the client wanted to use the outlet temperature of the air preheater to heat 90 m3/h of water from 20°C to 80°C. The flue gas outlet temperature is 130°C. I did some calculations manually and found that the water flow rate could only support 24 m3/h; I informed BOSS of this situation, and he said it was acceptable and asked me to prepare a design for a larger economizer. I’m a bit confused now – did I make a calculation error, or is it something that he considers feasible based on his experience? I hope the teachers can help clarify my doubts. Thank you! :hug:

Thank you for your participation! What you said is off-topic. Anyway, will you be the one to bear the consequences if a selection that doesn’t suit the operating conditions is made? Will the customer pay? With this plan completely abandoned, how can we talk about making money?:lol
Why not simply add a heat exchanger at the front end of the air preheater to heat water directly with flue gas? ? ?
