In chemical production, heat transfer oil furnaces are widely used. However, they have one limitation: their use is restricted at high temperatures. Melt salt furnaces can operate at higher temperatures. What are the heating methods (ways of supplying heat) for melt salt furnaces?
Melting salts crystallize easily, so their use is limited, right?
The molten salt furnace should preferably be designed in the form of a water-cooled furnace, with the medium that needs to be heated being heated through coiled tubes. If it is designed in the form of a conventional heat transfer oil furnace, with the molten salt being pumped to an external heat exchanger for heating, it is easy for the molten salt to crystallize and block the pipes as well as the heat exchanger.
