What are the advantages of mechanical tube expanders compared to hydraulic tube expanders?
Mechanical expansion is simple to operate and low in cost, but it causes damage to the inside of the tube, leading to stress concentration. The inner surface of the tube is not damaged during hydraulic expansion, but the cost of installing the equipment is high.
For tube sheet connection structures that require strength expansion, hydraulic expansion should be used. For materials such as stainless steel and non-ferrous metals that are subject to stress corrosion, hydraulic expansion should be used.
