The manufacturer actually uses silver paint applied to the outer surface of carbon steel to deceive us by pretending it is stainless steel. How can we distinguish between stainless steel and carbon steel? The manufacturer applied silver powder paint to the outer surface of the equipment. When I scratched off that paint, I saw that the underlying layer was somewhat blackish; I could feel some black residue with my hand
Manufacturers might do such stupid things, right?
What kind of equipment is this? Can stainless steel be used in this way?
It’s generally unlikely. Check the design and supply contract to see what the material of the equipment actually is

With a stainless steel surface, even the slightest burr or something like that is immediately visible. It’s true that few 304 materials on the market meet the specified standards, but the claim that the cost of coating is high might be false – those above me still don’t believe it.;:lol
Using magnets to test stainless steel is not reliable at all; some stainless steel types are not attracted to magnets while others are, mainly due to differences in their internal composition and varying applications.
After reading that, I just laughed. I remember there was a post about galvanized iron sheets used for exports – only the outer layer was made of iron sheet, while the inside was all concrete.
