Advantages of helical gear transmission

The gears in our conventional reducers use helical tooth transmission. I read today that one of the advantages of helical tooth transmission over straight tooth transmission is that the increased number of teeth on helical gears leads to better power transmission. Why are there more helical teeth than straight teeth? I drew some diagrams myself but still didn’t figure it out
As the number of teeth in helical gear pairs and spur gears increases, I wonder if that book provides an explanation for this? The number of teeth should be the same; helical gears increase the transmitting force.
