Can you please help me analyze the main causes of this shaft breakage, material 30408
Is the runner stuck, causing the shaft to break?
The pictures should be more comprehensive, including the overall equipment and the rotor, plus what you posted will make it comprehensive. It is not known whether there is vibration during operation, and the prestressed connection bolts with the equipment foundation are tightened. Rotor alignment, levelness, etc. Will cause shaft breakage. Or maybe it's a process issue.
Too much torque is not appropriate, because the broken part is the driven shaft, and the relatively transmitted torque is not very large. It is more appropriate to consider from the perspective of processing technology. I suspect that it may have been quenched after welding, and there are certain cracks. The processing progress is not high, the concentricity is not good, and the alternating stress during operation causes fracture.

Generally, the side clearance and top clearance of a rotary valve are about 30. If the material enters the gap and gets stuck, or the rotary valve expands, it can also cause jamming, resulting in excessive torque. In some cases, there are defects in the material processing technology, resulting in shaft breakage. Just looking at your picture, it should be that the motor is directly connected. If the torque is too large, why does the motor not trip by itself?
