Our company has installed a new electrodialysis tank. In the previous systems, feed occurred at the bottom while output was at the top; this new tank allows for feed both at the bottom and in the middle. Could everyone please help explain the principle behind this new tank as well as its internal structure?
“The patented technology of \"dual-feed dual-field electrodesalination\" makes full use of the previously unused space at the upper part of the electrodesalination tank by horizontally installing an upper electric field composed of several semi-enclosed disc electrodes. Above the centerline of the electrodialysis cell, and below the upper electric field, a lower electric field composed of horizontal or vertical electrodes is installed. The upper and lower electric fields are relatively independent of each other, aside from sharing one electrodialysis tank, an oil outlet collection pipe, and a wastewater discharge system; this is equivalent to having two sets of low-speed electrodialysis equipment installed within a single electrodialysis tank. Due to the use of a dual-electric-field method for treating crude oil, the rising speed Ws of the oil-water emulsion in the upper and lower electric fields is significantly reduced. During the oil-water separation of crude oil in the electrodesalting tank, the process proceeds fast when necessary and slow when necessary. Compared to communication devices and AC/DC desalination equipment, it has a smaller size, requires less space, and offers better treatment performance. Crude oil processing capacity increases by 1.75 to 2 times, while equipment investment is reduced by about 30%.
