Simple troubleshooting for moisture meters: Open circuit in measurement/titration. When there is an open circuit in measurement or titration, the status indication rises rapidly to its maximum value, after which it shows “Measurement open”. 1. At this time, check whether the plugs and sockets of the measurement electrode and the cathode chamber are in good contact. 2. Check whether the measurement electrode leads and the cathode chamber electrode leads are properly connected or broken. Measuring short circuit: When measuring a short circuit, the status indicates electrode short circuit. 1. Check whether the measurement electrode plug or socket is short-circuited. 2. Check whether the measurement electrodes are short-circuited. 3. Check whether the measurement electrodes are leaking, which may prevent the instrument from reaching the end point. If the measurement electrode leaks, the instrument cannot reach the end point even though the titration time exceeds half an hour (this is not a reagent issue at this point). 4. When new electrolyte is added, electrode short-circuiting may also occur; in such cases, a small amount of distilled water can be added slowly until the display returns to normal. Open circuit in electrolysis: When the electrolysis electrodes are open-circuited, the status is indicated as “Open Electrolysis”. 1. Check whether the electrolysis electrode plug and socket are connected. 2. Check whether the electrolytic electrode leads and the anode chamber electrode leads are properly connected or broken. 3. When there is water in the oil, if an excessive amount of sample is poured into the electrolytic cell and not removed in time, the oil sample will accumulate around the platinum mesh on the outer layer of the cathode, preventing communication between the cathode chamber and the anode chamber and resulting in an open circuit during electrolysis.
