The maintenance of belt conveyor equipment is very important. Today, the editor will introduce to you the maintenance methods for commonly used belt conveyors. 1. Daily maintenance of belt conveyors: Belt conveyors transport materials through friction; proper daily maintenance procedures must be followed when operating them. The tasks involved in daily maintenance are as follows: 1. Before starting the belt conveyor, check the tightness of all bolts on the conveyor, adjust the tension of the belt, with this tension level determined by whether the belt is slipping on the drums. 2. After being in use for a period of time, the conveyor belt of the belt conveyor (1) will become loose; in such cases, the tightening screws or counterweights should be adjusted. (2) If the core of the belt conveyor’s conveyor belt is exposed, it should be repaired promptly. (3) When the core of the belt conveyor belt is corroded, cracked, or damaged, the damaged portion should be discarded. (4) Be sure to check whether there are any abnormalities at the belt joints of the belt conveyor. (5) Check whether there is wear on the upper and lower rubber surfaces of the belt conveyor belt, as well as whether there is friction on the belt. (6) When the conveyor belt of a belt conveyor is severely damaged and needs to be replaced, it is usually possible to lay a longer conveyor belt by pulling the new belt with the old one. 3. Brakes of belt conveyors (1) The brakes of belt conveyors are prone to being contaminated by engine oil on the drive unit. To avoid affecting the braking performance of the belt conveyor, the oil around the brake should be cleaned promptly. (2) When the brake wheel of the belt conveyor breaks and the wear thickness of the brake rim reaches 40% of its original thickness, it should be scrapped. 4. Idler rollers of belt conveyors (1): If cracks appear in the welds of the idler rollers of belt conveyors, they should be repaired promptly; they can only be put into use after passing tests ; (2) If the encapsulation layer of the idler rollers on the belt conveyor ages or cracks, they should be replaced promptly. (3) Use calcium-sodium salt-based rolling bearing lubricant No. 1 or No. 2. For example, if production takes place in three shifts consecutively, the replacement is carried out every three months; this period can be extended or shortened as appropriate depending on the circumstances.
