The external-clamp ultrasonic Emerson flowmeter is very popular among users, as it is one of the simplest and most convenient types of flowmeters to install. Measurement can be carried out by simply selecting an appropriate measurement point, entering the pipeline parameters at that point into the flow meter, and installing the sensor on the pipeline. Therefore, we need to understand the installation steps before using it. Installation steps for the external-clamping ultrasonic Emerson flow meter: (1) The installation direction of the two sensors should be parallel and in the same direction. (2) If space constraints at the installation location prevent symmetrical horizontal installation of the sensors, the probes can be installed at an angle or vertically, as long as there are no bubbles in the upper part of the pipe and the pipe is always filled with liquid. (3) The two sensors should be installed horizontally along the axis of the pipeline. (4) During installation, the sensors and horizontal pipes should be installed at the pipe interface; it is essential to ensure that there are no sand particles or bubbles between the pipe wall and the sensors. (5) To prevent the presence of bubbles in the upper part of the pipe, it should be installed at the 3 o’clock or 9 o’clock position on the horizontal axis. Before installing the external clamp-type ultrasonic Emerson flow meter, to ensure that there are no bubbles between the pipe wall and the sensor, it is necessary to apply an adequate amount of coupling agent to the pipe wall and the central part of the sensor. The coupling agent is then compressed, and the external clamp-type sensor is pressed tightly against the pipe wall and secured in place. At the same time, the area on the outer surface of the pipe where installation is to take place must be cleaned thoroughly, removing paint and rust, so that the dense part of the pipe material can be selected for sensor installation.
