Today, we will discuss the operation of roller conveyors with you. Conveyor belts are specifically used for transporting various types of boxes, bags, pallets, and other items. Conveyor belts can transport individual heavy items or withstand high impact loads. Since the gap between the rollers in a roller conveyor is used to transport small items, they must be conveyed using pallets. The main components of a roller conveyor include the drive rollers, rack, frame, driver, etc. It features high throughput, fast speed, easy operation, and the ability to perform multi-line distributed transportation. With the advancement of science and technology, the use of roller conveyors in various economic sectors in China has led to production enterprises today generally opting for conveyor equipment to improve their manufacturing processes. At the same time, roller conveyors can also be developed, designed, and manufactured based on the material production requirements of production automation as well as various logistics needs. The design of the roller conveyor is very simple, offering high safety and reliability in use and operation, and it is also convenient for daily production use and maintenance. However, long-term material transportation presents some problems, which prevent the roller conveyor from operating properly. Therefore, it is particularly important and urgent to clearly identify the location of the problem at this stage, as no machine can keep working indefinitely. Now, let’s introduce several reasons why roller conveyors cannot operate properly. 1. The brake of the roller conveyor is damaged, preventing it from stopping properly ; 2. The roller conveyor cannot send a braking command, which is usually caused by damage to the braking switch ; 3. The power supply of the roller conveyor transmission system cannot be cut off in a timely manner ; 4. Abnormal air pressure in the roller conveyor, usually manifested as air leakage or blocked air pipes ; 5. The friction belt of the roller conveyor is loose or its friction coefficient has decreased ; 6. The wiring method of the stator winding of the roller conveyor may be incorrect. The insulation layer of the winding ages, resulting in excessive and unbalanced starting currents, as well as loud noises; this causes the protection devices to activate and cut off the power supply ; 7. On roller conveyors, the electric drums sometimes generate loud noise and experience localized heating. This is mainly because the starting torque of an AC motor is very low, preventing it from starting under load; moreover, the motor will stop when the load increases. Another issue is that the AC motor lacks starting torque, which causes the conveyor belt to fail to start when it is unloaded and to produce abnormal noises.
