This marks a significant progress in the project’s construction, laying a solid foundation for its timely commissioning. The Wen Chang 16-2 oil field development project is located in the western part of the Pearl River Delta basin, about 200 kilometers away from Wen Chang City in Hainan Province. The water depth in the operation area is around 150 meters. The project involves the construction of a jacketed platform. The length of the underwater pipelines and cables used for transporting oil and gas from the Wen Chang 16-2 WHPA platform exceeds 28 kilometers. This platform is capable of carrying out oil and gas extraction, providing living conditions for personnel, and facilitating offshore drilling and completion operations. As for the platform’s structure, it features a four-leg, twelve-pile jacket design, with a total height of over 160 meters. It is currently the tallest jacketed platform among those used for offshore oil and gas production in the area surrounding Hainan Island. The upper part of the platform consists of four decks, equipped with more than 60 sets of production equipment. Its length is 65 meters, its width is 49 meters, and its projected area is equivalent to that of 7.5 standard basketball courts. The living quarters are designed according to industry standards, using a shell-and-plate structure, and can accommodate 80 workers for long-term residence at sea. The modular drilling rig includes 20 drill slots and various types of automated equipment; its design lifespan is 25 years, sufficient to meet the basic needs of oil field development. The platform consists of four components: the jacket, the upper structure, the living quarters, and the modular drilling rig. Its total height exceeds 200 meters, and its total weight is around 19,200 tons, which is roughly equivalent to the combined weight of 13,000 cars
