The normal operating temperature of the sulfur production furnace is around 900 degrees, while the temperature at the outlet of the waste heat exchanger is typically around 150 degrees. The waste heat exchanger is made of 15CrMo carbon steel; however, after one year, severe corrosion occurred at the tube sheet. It’s not clear whether this is due to design issues, operational problems, or material defects
Samples can be taken from the outlet tube sheet of the sulfur production waste heat boiler to analyze its corrosion mechanism; meanwhile, during regular production, the composition of the gas exiting the sulfur production waste heat boiler should be analyzed as needed, and some findings should be possible.
