Why does hand sweat cause metal to rust?

It’s mainly because the hands have an ethereal quality, and also due to sweating. Sweat contains water, sodium chloride, as well as small amounts of sulfates, urea, and small molecular fatty acids.
Human sweat is a colorless or pale yellow, salty-tasting, weakly acidic liquid with a pH value of 5 to 6. In addition to salts of sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, it also contains small amounts of organic acids such as urea, lactic acid, and citric acid. When sweat comes into contact with metal, a layer of sweat film forms on the surface of the metal. This sweat film exerts an electrochemical effect on the metal, causing it to corrode. It is inevitable for people to sweat, and to prevent rusting caused by sweaty hands, production workers should wear gloves or finger covers, or use specialized tools to handle parts – they should not touch the products with their bare hands.
