The anti-corrosion effect of using epoxy coal tar pitch on the outer surface of buried pipelines is also good. We know that our country has many good methods and materials for buried pipelines, which can be used for large-scale project construction. However, some companies do not have large quantities during the pipeline overhaul and renewal process, and the use of more advanced materials and methods is limited by quantity and price. So using some traditional methods is also a good choice. The picture below shows a company using FRP made of polyamide epoxy coal pitch during the pipeline renewal process. The basic process is: Two primers for floor treatment (matching) - two cloths and five oils of fiberglass, with a thickness of more than 0.5 mm. The effect is good through use and can be used for more than 15 years. However, material selection and construction quality must be controlled. Only in this way can we have a good construction work that can stand the test. Through this matter, I want to say that when it comes to traditional methods, the effect is not good, and this consideration is a bit biased.

The quality is still not up to par. Only a simple overlap can be seen in the picture, and the overlap width is not enough. Generally, it is required to overlap 50%, and sand control also needs 50-100mm. It only looks like 10-20mm in the picture, which is prone to problems.

The key to the traditional method of anti-corrosion of buried pipelines is construction quality. Pipe rust removal must be thorough, the number of layers of oil and cloth must be sufficient, the quality of oil replenishment at welding joints must be ensured, and the backfill should not contain stones to prevent damage to the anti-corrosion layer. If the construction quality can be guaranteed, decades of use will not be a problem.
The most commonly used anti-corrosion layer for buried pipelines is three layers of PE.
