Seeking advice: For flue gas at 1000°C containing 3% hydrogen fluoride, what material should be used for corrosion protection? Both metallic and non-metallic materials are acceptable.
I have done similar things before, using calcium silicate boards for the outer layer with stainless steel inside
I’ve never used it at 1,000°C – that’s quite a high temperature

Can the F content be controlled through preliminary formulation adjustments? Moreover, in a combustion environment at 1000°C with complex gas composition, the existence of pure hydrogen fluoride gas is impossible.
The furnace of our company’s incineration unit contains HF, HCl, and related free radicals. Corundum is used for the inner walls of the furnace, while carbon steel is used for the outer walls; however, the actual performance of this setup still needs to be verified. For now, it is functioning normally
Isn’t this nonsense? Silicates can protect against HF? What an expert claim
How long has it been in use? What is the approximate HF concentration? What is the purity of corundum? We happen to have a similar project to launch as well. Is it convenient to communicate directly?
The preliminary mixing has been done, but the F content remains high, resulting in strong corrosion of the refractory materials; they basically need to be replaced every year.
