Our company uses enamel reactors purchased from Zibo, Shandong, for the hydrolysis process. The reaction medium consists of waste alkaline solution derived from wood semi-fibers after purification; the acidity is neutralized to around 3% by adding sulfuric acid, followed by hydrolysis at a temperature of 115 degrees and a pressure of 1.5 kilograms. These enamel reactors were put into official use in April 2018. In January 2020, an inspection was conducted on the reactors, and it was found that there was a layer of carbonized particle impurities formed as a result of excessive reaction on the tank walls. After these particles fell off, the enamel surface became rough overall, with severe localized erosion that exposed the steel underlying layer. There was also slight corrosion and whitening in the areas that did not come into contact with the reactants. We are now considering repair options; the equipment manufacturer says that the only solution is to send the reactors back to the factory for repainting, but this would involve very high costs. So I would like to discuss with everyone how to select enamel kettle equipment in order to ensure a longer service life, and whether there are any good overall repair solutions.

1. The polymer material commonly used for enamel repair is Belzona glue; You can look up the procedure on Baidu; 2. The composition of the enamel glaze is very important ; 3. Can the medium be neutralized outside the enamel tank first before being fed into the tank? Welcome to communicate! The service life of ordinary enamel equipment is around 10 years.
