We have wastewater with a chloride content of 3000–5000, and it needs to be treated through ammonia evaporation and evaporation crystallization. Is it appropriate to use 2205 material for the ammonia evaporation tower and 2507 material for the evaporation crystallization process? If applicable, what is the expected lifespan? Thank you.
These two materials are available; the expected service life needs to be calculated based on the corrosion allowance, and it is estimated to be no less than 10 years
The use of graphite towers and graphite reboilers can completely eliminate the concern of chloride ion corrosion.
The evaporation heater is made of graphite, with the pipes lined with PTFE.
One is ammonia vaporization, using steam at a temperature of around 100 degrees Celsius. The other is negative-pressure evaporation crystallization, which is also estimated to be in the 100-degree range.
These two materials are usable; the benefit of using them for corrosion protection is limited, but they may extend the lifespan. It’s best to decide based on the actual circumstances
Could you tell me the approximate lifespan? A system was installed there before (the material is likely stainless steel), and now it’s severely corroded – it’s on the verge of collapsing. Thank you.
