This represents an important breakthrough for Sinopec in the area of high-end anti-corrosion materials. The front page of the Sinopec News reported on this. The graphene-based heavy-duty anti-corrosion coating developed by Shanghai Institute is suitable for storage tanks, buried pipelines, and steel structures in coastal (marine) areas with high salt levels and high humidity. Leveraging its own proprietary technology, the Shanghai Institute spent 3 years overcoming technical challenges and developed a series of graphene-based anti-corrosion coatings with excellent impact resistance, salt spray resistance, and resistance to various chemicals. These coatings have obtained the **C5 grade certification from the Coating Quality Inspection Center for use in high-demand anti-corrosion applications. Currently, this technology has been included in Sinopec’s list of key technologies to be developed, and the related products have been selected as among the top ten new chemical materials of Sinopec. During the pilot phase of this product’s application, researchers from the Shanghai Research Institute provided professional technical services on site. The SEG Luoyang Technology R&D Center was responsible for managing construction procedures and offering technical support, while the sales team in East China ensured effective on-site coordination. High standards of quality control were strictly applied throughout the project’s construction process, demonstrating the efficient collaboration among Sinopec’s research, engineering, and business teams.
