1. Guarantee items: Guarantee items are important inspection items that ensure the safety of a project or its functional performance. Whether the quality grade is rated as qualified or excellent, all specified criteria must be met. For different sub-projects, GB5021-95 specifies the required assurance items; these items only need to be met, with no distinction between excellent and satisfactory performance. 2. Basic items: Basic items are the essential inspection items to ensure the safety of a project or its functional performance. Their criteria are divided into two levels – “qualified” and “excellent” – and they serve as one of the conditions for assessing the quality grade of individual project components. 3. Items with allowable tolerances: Items with allowable tolerances are those for which specified ranges of tolerance are defined in the on-site inspection of individual construction tasks. During inspection and evaluation, it is permissible for the measurement values at a small number of sampled points to slightly exceed the allowable deviation range. 4. Visual quality rating: The visual quality is assessed by more than three people together. The inspection items and standards for the processing and installation of steel structures are shown in the table below. When evaluating the visual quality, 10 points are selected for each item for assessment, and a rating is given based on the pass rate; the standards are specified in the Visual Quality Evaluation Table.
