On December 15, it was learned from CGN Suzhou Thermal Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CGN Suzhou Institute) that the Nuclear Power Sub-center of the **Material Corrosion and Protection Science Data Center**, which was established in collaboration with this institute and the **Material Corrosion and Protection Science Data Center**, and is supported by nuclear power plants such as Hongyanhe, Ningde, Qinshan, and Guoneng Demonstration, was officially inaugurated at CGN Suzhou Institute recently. A responsible official from the Material Engineering Technology Center of CGN Suzhou Institute reviewed the progress made in the exchanges and joint efforts between the two parties regarding nuclear power sub-centers for data centers. Focusing on three areas – the digital platform for corrosion assessment and protection of nuclear materials, technologies for real-time monitoring and detection of corrosion, and intelligent models for corrosion evaluation and prediction – the official provided details on the construction plans and implementation strategies for such sub-centers during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and outlined their potential applications in areas such as the evaluation of the performance of nuclear materials and the mitigation of performance degradation. **Li Xiaogang, director of the Materials Corrosion and Protection Science Data Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Data Center”) and president of the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection, hopes that the nuclear power sub-center of the Data Center will become more robust, efficient, and powerful during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, making positive contributions to the high-quality development of the nuclear power industry. Li Xiaogang provided a comprehensive overview of the construction of the **Science Data Center for Material Corrosion and Protection**, focusing on the technical frameworks that include high-throughput corrosion sensing technologies, a corrosion monitoring network platform, an intelligent computing platform for integrating corrosion-related data and knowledge, as well as online corrosion monitoring and smart operation and maintenance systems, along with their application prospects. Liang Zhanxiang, a member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of the Suzhou Branch, emphasized that the branch will ensure the proper development of the nuclear power sub-center within the data center, providing support for the group’s and **’s nuclear power development strategies. At the same time, it will actively participate in the construction of the offshore wind power sub-center within the data center, contributing to the development of China’s new energy industry. The establishment of the nuclear power sub-center in the data center is of great significance for enhancing the technical capabilities and core competitiveness of the Suzhou Institute in the field of service safety for nuclear power materials. “During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the Suzhou Institute will, under the guidance of the **Material Corrosion and Protection Data Center, ensure the proper allocation of resources. It will continue to play a leading role in the field of nuclear power materials in China, deepen cooperation with domestic nuclear power plants that are under construction, and make steady progress in establishing sub-centers within the data center. The nuclear power sub-center of this data center will be developed into a high-level platform for scientific and technological innovation that is closely aligned with practical engineering needs and capable of supporting industrial development. At the event, the two parties jointly signed the \"Cooperation Agreement on Establishing a Nuclear Power Sub-center within the Materials Corrosion and Protection Data Center.\" Li Xiaogang and Wang Jun, the director of the Materials Engineering Technology Center at the Suzhou Institute, will serve as co-directors of this nuclear power sub-center. The two parties will continue to work together on various levels and in multiple areas, including the accumulation of long-term, multi-dimensional data resources, the development of technical services for ensuring the safety of nuclear materials during operation, the creation of an ecosystem for applying data related to corrosion of nuclear materials, and the establishment of a data-driven platform for collaborative innovation in corrosion protection technologies.
