III. Precise determination through professional testing and rapid on-site screening: The o-phenanthroline colorimetry method is used; after the water sample is reacted with a color-developing reagent, it is compared with standard color charts, allowing for an initial assessment within 10 minutes as to whether the concentration exceeds the 0.1 mg/L limit – making it suitable for use in routine inspections. The laboratory employs precise testing using the o-phenanthroline spectrophotometry method (the standard method for arbitration). By measuring the absorbance at a wavelength of 510 nm, it is possible to accurately quantify the iron concentration in boiler water, with a data error of ≤2%, making this method an authoritative basis for determining results.
