I designed a steam pipeline vertical shaft approximately 300 meters long, with a diameter of Dn 125 and a design pressure of 0.4 MPa; the temperature is 153 degrees. Square compensators are used as fixed supports along the vertical shaft, with the spacing between these fixed supports being around 50 meters. I would like to ask whether pipe clamps are still needed for risers of this type? Can we still use fixed brackets to bear the weight? Are guide supports needed for the riser? Can we just use the hole in each floor slab as a substitute?
Of course, a support structure is needed for fixation, and you certainly can’t use ordinary supports, because after thermal displacement, the support beneath the square will become unsupported, while the support above the square serves as a fixing element. In this case, spring supports are needed to bear the load, along with guiding and limiting mechanisms. I guess you definitely don’t do stress calculations, otherwise you wouldn’t ask such a question.
How many meters should a set of riser spring hangers be spaced apart?
