CAD created unnamed group

I’m asking for help here. I have a split-screen setup on my computer, so I installed two versions of CAD: one version 14 and one version 17 of P3D. It’s easy to create unnamed groups using version 14, but it’s complicated with version 17 – it keeps telling me “No objects selected; no group created” even though I have definitely selected objects

I encountered the same problem: it works in the CAD program, but not after starting CAD P3D. In the end, I had to install both on my computer. Many netizens said that there’s no need to install pure CAD when using CAD P3D, as CAD is already included in it. After installation, it was confirmed that CAD functions are available once CAD P3D is started, and the interface is the same; it’s just that the function for creating groups doesn’t work, as mentioned earlier. I haven’t encountered any issues with other commands for now. I wonder how this person solved it; please share it so I can learn from it!
