Hello, esteemed seniors and fellow students. I am conducting a simulation for the removal of water from ethyl acetate. When I interrupt the circulation flow to make adjustments, I find that the amount of extractant in RE is roughly the same as that in R, and this level remains stable. However, the amount of water in RE increases by the same amount each time the simulation is started up, resulting in an issue of product accumulation. This prevents RE and R from reaching equilibrium in terms of the amount of water. How should such problems be solved? (The attachment contains the process I followed.)

Thank you for your reply. I used a calculation module for the replenishment of the extractant, but what should be done with the water at the bottom of Tower 2?
Looking at your process, there’s no real cycle here; the water at the bottom of Tower 2 goes back to the mixer
Well, thank you for your reply. This is my debugging process before implementing the loop. My problem is that every time I copy the output from the bottom of Tower 2 to R for recalculation, the water amount in Tower 2’s calculation results increases by a fixed value (due to product accumulation). I’m not sure how to deal with this, otherwise errors occur once the loop is implemented
Has the original poster resolved the issue? I encountered the same problem: the extractant that returns in the cycle contains a small amount of impurities. There is no error when the cycle is not enabled, but an error occurs once the cycle is activated
