Everyone, I used the NRTL-RK model in Aspen Plus V9.0 to calculate the solubility of sodium sulfate in water. I employed the sensitivity module to determine the solubility of sodium sulfate in water at temperatures ranging from 0 to 100°C for 100 grams of water. However, the results obtained were not consistent with those reported in the literature. Additionally, when I set the initial temperatures of the flow streams ‘water’ and ‘salt’ to 100, the calculation did not converge. Could someone help diagnose what the problem is?
Obviously, it’s inconsistent; using electrolytes makes it relatively reliable

This post was last edited by zhxbkofkyo on 2018-7-3 13:54. Has an electrolyte reaction occurred? It needs to have ions; it’s not enough to just choose an equation. If that doesn’t work, upload the file so I can take a look

Your version is too high; I only have version 8.4. If that doesn’t work, please send it in BKP format
Take a look at the electrolyte balance equations to see if the equilibrium constants are included; if those fields are left empty, it’s very likely that the results will not match those in the literature. I remember it was either NACL or KCL – I encountered this problem with those. Some balance equations have no parameters at all
I can’t open the BKP file. I tried to open it using a higher version in earlier versions, but it didn’t work. I’ll try following your suggestion first
