When using the Haochen CAD software for drawing, the most frequent use of the mouse is to select objects. There are two different ways to select objects in the CAD window: selection via the main window and selection via intersecting windows. But what are the differences between these two methods? Below, we will explain in detail the distinctions between them. I. What is CAD window selection? Window selection: When selecting objects, use the mouse to draw a solid rectangular frame (draw the rectangle directly, that is, select the two diagonal points of the rectangle; there is no need to use the “Create Rectangular Polyline” command to draw it), and the objects completely enclosed within that frame are selected. As shown in the figure above, at this point only the filling in Xinjiang is selected; no other areas are selected. II. What is CAD cross-window selection? Cross-window selection: When selecting objects, use the mouse to draw a dashed rectangular frame (with the second diagonal point located to the left of the first diagonal point); the objects that are completely or partially enclosed by this frame are selected. As shown in the figure above, at this point, some of the fill areas in Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning will be selected.
