After the CAD drawing is completed and sent to someone else, it can be opened on one’s own computer, but that person cannot open it. Why is that? How can this problem be solved? Today, I’d like to share with you a quick tutorial on CAD basics, focusing on the reasons why drawings cannot be opened and the solutions to those problems! Reasons why CAD drawings cannot be opened: In fact, the most common cause of this issue is a problem with the version format. This is because CAD is constantly being updated and upgraded, but many people’s CAD versions have not been updated, and such differences in version numbers can lead to this problem. Solutions for unable to open CAD drawings: Method 1: Save the CAD drawings in a lower version. Saving each drawing separately is a tedious and time-consuming process; in fact, it’s possible to set a default saving format while drawing, choosing a lower version for that purpose. Click Tools - Options dialog box. Click to open and save the project. Select an appropriate version format at the save location, as shown in the figure below. After making the selection, click the OK button. After creating the new drawing, click save; the default format will be the lower version format. Method 2: Modify CAD’s default settings. The second approach is to change the default settings in the Save dialog box. Open the Save dialog box, click the options button on the right; the Save As options will appear, showing a interface similar to the one above, where you can select the graphic format. As shown in the figure below, the modification result is the same. For example, the default is DWG in 2007 format. Others can use CAD versions; any version after 07 will work.
