Many people still think of Boolean operations as some complex mathematical logical reasoning methods, but in fact, in CAD drawing, they are amazing tools that can make the design process much easier and faster! Today, let’s talk about how Boolean operations in Haochen CAD make design so amazing! The Haochen CAD drawing software provides 3 Boolean operations – “union, difference, intersection”. The union refers to the operation of combining two graphic regions; the resulting shape is shown in the figure below. The intersection refers to the operation of retaining only the overlapping part of the two graphics and removing the rest, with the resulting shape shown in the figure below. The difference refers to the operation of removing the overlapping part of the two graphics and keeping only the non-overlapping parts of one of the graphics, with the resulting shape shown in the figure below. Next, I will use Boolean operations to change the white shapes in the figure below into red shapes. 1. When initiating the Boolean operation command, it is possible to select and isolate the objects that do not need to be processed. 2. Select “Union” and do not check “Delete the second operation object”. The areas of the outer circle and the individual smaller circles are combined through the \"union\" operation, resulting in a regularly protruding shape on the outside. By not checking “Delete the second operation object”, each small circle can be retained to facilitate subsequent calculations. 3. Follow the system prompts: first select the outer circle, then select each of the smaller circles. 4. Restart the 2D Boolean operation command, select “Difference”, check “Delete the second operand”, and after the Boolean operation is completed, the individual small circles will be automatically deleted by the system. 5. Follow the system prompts: select the inner circle first, then each of the smaller circles. In actual design, we often use this function when drawing some complex drawings. The “union” operation in Boolean algebra is typically used for combining areas, while “difference” and “intersection” operations are used for dividing areas locally. By making flexible use of functions such as “Circular Array (ARRAYPOLAR)”, “Rectangular Array (ARRAYRECT)”, and “Mirror (MIRROR)”, design and drafting can be carried out more quickly and accurately, thus saving a great deal of time.
