For those who are just starting out in CAD drawing, they may not be very familiar with the CAD leader annotation command. However, in HaoChen CAD, this command is one of the most important ones. So, let’s take a closer look at the CAD leader annotation command! CAD leader annotation command: Command line: DIMleader/Leader – creates leaders that connect annotations to geometric features. The command-line prompts and steps are as follows: Specify the lead start point — Specify the first point ； Specify the next point — specify the second point ； Specify next point or annotation (A)/Format (F)/Cancel (U)/—Specify third point, or enter an option, or press ENTER to enter annotation text as prompted. Note (A): Insert a note at the end of the lead. Annotations can be single-line or multi-line text, and may include feature control frames or blocks for geometric tolerances. Enter the first line for the annotation text, or —— enter text or press ENTER directly to set the option ； Type text at the command line prompt — this text will be automatically placed at the end of the leader. After entering text and before pressing ENTER to end the command, prompts to enter additional text lines will be repeated continuously until two ENTER keys are pressed to end the command. If you press ENTER directly without entering text first in the “Annotation” prompt, the following message will be displayed: Enter annotation option: Tolerance/Copy/Block/None/Multi-line text] — Inserts multi-line text at the end of the leader. By selecting this option, the “Multi-line Text Editor” dialog box will be opened, where users can enter text and modify its style. Tolerance (T): When this option is selected, the \"Geometric Tolerance\" dialog box will open, where base identifiers and base dimension annotations can be created. Copy (C): Copies text, multi-line text objects, feature control frames or blocks with geometric tolerances, and attaches the copy to the end of a leader. The copy and the leader are associated, so if the copied object moves, the end of the leader will move as well. The display of the hook line depends on the object being copied. Select the object to copy — choose Block Selection (B) to insert a block at the end of the leader. The block reference is inserted at an offset from the lead endpoint and associated with that lead; that is, if the lead endpoint moves, the block moves along with it. Do not display hook lines. None (N): Ends the command without adding any comments to the lead. Format (F) controls the way leads are drawn and whether they include arrows. Enter lead format option: Spline (S)/Line (ST)/Arrow (A)/None (N) —— Enter an option or press ENTER to return to the previous prompt; after each option is entered, the “Specify next point” prompt will be displayed again. Specify next point or comment (A)/Format (F)/Cancel (U)/—Specify next point, enter an option, or press ENTER.
