Why do many actuators in the configuration of many DCS systems have only start and stop functions, rather than a start function? What is the reason for this?
Generally, it is because the equipment is quite important and cannot be started remotely; it is necessary to verify all equipment conditions and process parameters on-site before pressing the start button on the local control panel.
