In the process of creating drawings using the HaoChen CAD software, CAD layers are a very important element. When working with CAD drawings, it is often necessary to turn layers on and off, freeze or lock them. In fact, we can save the settings of these layers using the \"Layer State Manager\"; this way, there is no need to reapply those settings in subsequent drawings. Moreover, once such settings are established, they can be used in other CAD drawings that have identical settings. I. Saving CAD layer states: When we have set various properties such as layer status, visibility, freezing, and locking in the Layer Properties Manager, and wish to save these settings, we can right-click on the layer in the layer list of the Layer Manager. In the context menu that appears, select “Save Layer State”. Give the layer state a name, add any necessary descriptions, and then click the “OK” button. We can also open the CAD Layer State Manager dialog box, and then create a new layer state within the Layer State Manager. There are many ways to open the layer state manager. In the Layer Properties Manager, you can click the Layer State Manager button or press ALT+S to open the Layer State Manager dialog box, as shown in the figure below. If the classic interface is used, the corresponding menu items and buttons can be found in the menu and toolbar to open the Layer Status Manager. In the newer RIBBON interface, the Layer Status Manager can be opened from the dropdown panel on the CAD Layers tab in the Common options section, as shown in the figure below. In the CAD layer status manager, clicking the “New” button allows you to save the current layer status. To make it easier to remember and distinguish, you can assign a name to each layer status based on its function and characteristics, such as “Turn off wall” or “Switch on”. In the layer panel’s slide-out menu, you can also directly select “Create New Layer State” to save the current layer state. After saving a layer state, it can be edited or restored, and it can also be exported or imported as a layer state for other drawings. II. Restoring CAD layer states: After setting several common layer states, the Layer State Manager can be used to switch between them. The process is very simple – open the Layer State Manager dialog box, select a desired layer state from the list, and then click the “Restore” button at the bottom of the dialog box. Operations are simpler in higher versions; the preset layer states are listed in the slide-out panel of the layers panel, allowing for direct switching among them, as shown in the figure below. III. The settings for inputting and outputting CAD layer states are similar when it comes to units or professional drawing types; if the layer settings are the same, the operations performed will also be similar. The layer states set on one drawing can be used in other drawings as well. To avoid repeating these settings, CAD provides a function for exporting and importing layer states. In the Layer State Manager dialog box, select a layer state and then click the \"Export\" button to save this layer state as a *.las file. Clicking the \"Import\" button allows you to import layer states saved in *.las*, *.dwg*, and *.dwt* files. In the HaoChen CAD drawing software, it is very necessary to use the CAD layer manager, as this function is often required during the process of creating CAD drawings. Moreover, using this function effectively can make the drawing process much easier and more efficient; it also allows for a detailed understanding of the various states of CAD layers.
