Since then, CNPC has successfully achieved the domestic substitution of its refining and chemical production planning system, introducing a \"Chinese chip\". For a long time, the operation of production plans in China’s petroleum refining industry has relied on purchasing international commercial software, which results in high costs. Since 2011, the optimization center team at the Planning General Institute has closely aligned itself with the planning and optimization needs of petrochemical enterprises, giving up the previously relied-on international commercial software cores and working tirelessly from scratch to develop new solutions. “The core of APS3.0 is its independently developed optimization engine – the RIPO software. ”Wang Zhe, director of the Optimization Center at the Planning General Institute, pinpointed the key to the continuous improvement of such systems: “It can provide accurate data support and decision-making assistance for domestic enterprises to optimize their production and operations, as well as to reduce costs and increase efficiency.” ”After several iterations, once rolled out, this system has achieved significant results in areas such as the selection of imported oil and the optimization of production processes in Chinese petroleum refineries; it has led to the development of over 40,000 optimization plans, generating economic benefits worth more than 300 million yuan in total. The APS3.0 system employs technologies such as independent front-end and back-end development under autonomous control, offering significant advantages in terms of collaborative applications, parallel computing, and personalized customization. In practical applications, the APS3.0 system achieves deep integration with new technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data, demonstrating its strength in areas like ultra-large-scale parallel computing and intelligent predictive optimization. “Through domestic research and development, the APS system has achieved cutting-edge functionalities such as molecular modeling and optimization of carbon emissions and carbon footprints, thereby helping petrochemical enterprises advance to a higher level of refined management. ”Professor Qiu Tong from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University said.
