Regarding the height of the tank head?

For steel plate storage tanks, it is said that the inner diameter is used as the standard, but why is the height of the head still determined by its external height? Confused.
This post was last edited by huawei on 2010-6-30 at 11:30. For end caps whose inner diameter is the nominal diameter, the height of the end caps is also measured based on the inner diameter. For end caps whose nominal diameter is the outer diameter, the height is measured based on the outer diameter. Please refer to the regulations in the attachment and accompanying drawings.
Generally, when selecting size specifications, the nominal diameter is used as the basis for decision-making. For cylinders made from steel plates, the inner diameter is taken into account, while for those made from steel pipes, the outer diameter is used. The same applies to end caps, which are also determined based on their inner and outer diameters. The external height of the end cap mentioned by the original poster might refer to the overall height of the equipment as indicated on the drawings~
