The chimney of the blower system at Anyang Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. has successfully adopted water dust removal technology. Author/Source: Sinochem News Network; Date: 2020-01-08; Clicks: 44. Dust emissions now meet environmental standards, and the on-site environment has been significantly improved. The challenges related to smoke treatment in the blower system at Anyang Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. as well as the bottlenecks in its production processes have been completely resolved recently. On January 5, Anhua Group announced that its technical improvement paper titled \"Summary of Improvements for Water Dust Removal inside the Chimney of the Air Blowing and Recovery Device\" won the first prize in the 25th Henan Province Anyang City Outstanding Academic Papers in Natural Sciences competition. Experts believe that this achievement features advanced technology and a mature, feasible manufacturing process, reaching an advanced level in China overall; they recommend increasing efforts to promote its application. Since 2014, the company’s blower system chimneys have exhibited problems such as emitting black smoke and black rain, as well as scaling and blockage of the water spray nozzles; the dust removal efficiency has been poor, affecting the surrounding environment and imposing significant environmental pressures on the company. “This issue severely hinders the company’s development; we cannot sit idly by – we must resolve it. ”Zhang Yaru, the person in charge of technical upgrades at Anhua Group, said. After numerous discussions and the development of various plans, the company carried out technical upgrades to Unit 2 of the blowing gas system during the major system maintenance in April 2017: it optimized the overall structure of the dust removal device by using a two-stage baffle-type gas-liquid separator, thereby preventing water-laden flue gas from being discharged and addressing the issue of scale accumulation; it also improved the drainage pipes at the bottom of the chimney – building on the existing horizontal drainage pipes, it raised the middle section of these pipes by 500 millimeters at a 45° angle, extended them another 500 millimeters, and then returned them to a horizontal position at another 45° angle, so as to ensure that only liquid is discharged and no gas. “The results after the renovation were satisfactory; the problem of chimneys emitting black smoke and black rain was eliminated, resulting in significant environmental benefits. ”Zhang Yarou explained that after the dust removal device was put into operation, it had no impact on the blowing resistance of the gas generation furnace or the pressure parameters of the blowing air system, even at the same volume of gas being recovered. Moreover, the amount of water used for dust removal could be adjusted flexibly according to the load associated with the volume of gas being recovered. In August 2017, the company conducted a short-term shutdown inspection of the No. 2 blowing gas unit’s upper and lower gas-liquid separators, and no signs of fouling or blockage were found. Since the installation was put into operation, the emissions from the chimney have been in the form of water vapor; there has been no blackening of the flue gas caused by forced air, and the emissions meet the specified standards. The dust analysis test results have dropped from 88–98 mg/m3 to 9–25 mg/m3, and the water droplets occasionally carried in the flue gas have changed from \"wastewater droplets\" to \"clean water droplets\". The dust removal water is fully recovered through drainage and reused in the circulating water system. After adopting the two-stage baffled dust removal method and upgrading the drainage pipelines, the dust emissions from the chimney fully meet **environmental protection standards, and the on-site environment has also been improved. It is understood that the company’s research paper titled \"Summary of Improvements for Water Dust Removal inside the Chimney of the Air Blowing and Recovery Device\" won the first prize for QC achievements in Henan Province in 2018, as well as a utility model patent. “As a new and innovative dust removal method, the company will next carry out upgrades to implement chimney dust removal at the 1# blowing air unit, in order to eliminate the impact of dust pollution on the company’s development, protect the local environment, and contribute to the green and sustainable development of China’s chemical industry. ”Zhang Yarou said.
