It was reported on March 20 that Sinochem Third Construction secured the contract for the construction and installation work related to this project, with a bid amount of 408 million yuan. The project is located in Zijiahe District, Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. It was invested in by Heilongjiang Huaxia Yitong Fertilizer Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and involves the construction of a facility capable of producing 1 million tons of compound fertilizer, 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, and 300,000 tons of urea per year. Sanhua Jian undertook all the civil engineering and installation work for the plant’s ammonia synthesis unit, urea production facility, urea-based compound fertilizers, nitrate-based compound fertilizers, liquid ammonia storage area, sulfuric acid storage tanks in that area, flares, auxiliary production facilities, as well as the office buildings and various auxiliary structures – all of which are part of the public utilities (excluding the boiler room). The planned completion date is December 30, 2021, with a total construction period of 639 days. Qitaihe City, an old industrial base in the northeast, is now at a new historical starting point for the transformation from old to new drivers of development and for comprehensive revitalization. It is exploring a path toward building a new industrial framework characterized by multiple support systems, simultaneous development of various industries, and diversified growth, one that relies on coal while also going beyond it and not being dependent solely on coal. Once completed and put into operation, this project will have a profound impact on promoting the comprehensive utilization of coal in Qitaihe, accelerating industrial transformation, and contributing to economic and social development.
