On March 24, an inspection team composed of seven departments, including the Zibo City Chemical Industry Transformation Office, the city’s Development and Reform Commission, and the city’s Industry and Information Technology Bureau, conducted an on-site inspection of the demolition of Shandong Heli Tai Company’s ammonia synthesis production facilities. Du Qiang, director of the county’s Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Li Dejun, vice president of the group company, Li Feng, general manager of the company, Qi Junxiang, deputy head of production technology, Lu Huailei, safety director, along with heads of relevant departments such as the production technology department and the safety department, accompanied the inspection. At the acceptance meeting, the acceptance team listened to reports from Du Qiang, Director of the County Industry and Information Technology Bureau, and Li Dejun, Vice President, regarding the company’s withdrawal from ammonia synthesis production. They carefully reviewed technical documents related to the ammonia synthesis facilities, information on employee placement, and procedures for demolition, and also inspected the site after the ammonia synthesis units were demolished. After thorough exchanges and careful discussions, the acceptance team unanimously agreed that our company’s process of reducing its ammonia synthesis capacity meets the acceptance criteria specified in the \"Notice on Carrying Out the Acceptance Work for the Reduction of Capacity in the Seven High-Energy-Consuming Industries across the Province,\" and approved the acceptance. In recent years, the company has been continuously upgrading and transforming itself; it has phased out outdated production capacities such as sodium nitrate, sodium nitrite, urea, synthetic ammonia, and methanol, and launched a new 150,000-ton/year nitro compound fertilizer production facility. By doing so, it has improved its product portfolio and enhanced its profitability. At the same time, the company has made significant efforts in improving safety and environmental protection practices; it has been recognized as a enterprise with level 2 standards in safety production as well as a **high-tech enterprise. In December 2019, it was designated as a key monitoring site for the chemical industry in Shandong Province. Today, it is one of the large-scale chemical enterprises in China’s nitrogen fertilizer industry that boasts the most complete product portfolio and possesses the right to engage in import and export activities on its own.
