According to Shaanxi Xinghua Group, in March 2026, Xinghua Chemical produced a total of 67,800 tons of ammonia and alcohols, setting a new record for monthly production. Of this, 36,700 tons of methanol were produced, setting a new record for monthly production. The Production Planning Department has strengthened organizational coordination by stabilizing the steam pressure of the nitrogen compressor S1 at the gas handling center, strictly controlling the amount of oxygen extracted from air separation units, and increasing the concentration of coal slurry to reduce oxygen consumption. It has also adjusted the temperature of the shift converter to increase the content of useful gases, and precisely regulated the hydrogen-to-nitrogen ratio in ammonia synthesis as well as the temperature in the methanol synthesis tower, thereby boosting overall ammonia and alcohol production ； At the same time, it addresses issues such as high bearing temperatures and vibrations in the air separation nitrogen compressors, high vibrations in the synthesis compressors, and a high ethanol content in methanol, promptly eliminating potential operational hazards related to the high-pressure valves of the nitrogen compressors and the gas distribution valves in the ammonia shift process. Furthermore, the production, supply, and distribution mechanisms operate in close coordination: the proportion of coal used is adjusted based on the gas generation capacity of different coal types, information on coal quality is taken into account, and the product mix is modified according to market prices and inventory levels, thereby achieving optimal allocation of resources. The new system in Xinghua, Shaanxi, uses coal as a raw material and employs multi-component slurry gasification to produce 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 300,000 tons of methanol, soda ash, ammonium chloride, methylamine, DMF, as well as carrying out a technology demonstration project for the production of 100,000 tons per year of ethanol from syngas. The old system in Xinghua, Shaanxi, uses natural gas as raw material and a pure-oxygen heat-exchange two-stage conversion process to produce synthetic ammonia, nitric acid, ammonium nitrate, nitro compound fertilizers, and other products.
