Guohong Chemical and Haoyi Holdings Qingdao sign a 10,000-ton SAF demonstration project

According to Guohong Chemical, on April 13, 2026, Guohong Chemical and Haoyi Holding (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. officially signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. The two sides will carry out comprehensive cooperation on the 10,000-ton-scale sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) demonstration project to jointly promote the green and low-carbon transformation of aviation fuel. Under the agreement, Guohong Chemical and Haoyi Holdings will leverage their respective strengths in terms of resources, technology, capital, and industrial operations to jointly develop this 10,000-ton SAF demonstration project that will serve as a benchmark in the industry. Yankuang Guohong Chemical uses Texaco gasification technology to produce 500,000 tons of methanol; it was built in 2011. In 2012, 50,000 tons of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) were produced. In 2019, Yankuang Guohong Chemical Company also used PSA units to produce 800 m3/h of hydrogen, supplying hydrogen resources for the hydrogen-powered bus demonstration line in Jining City. Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) refers to aviation fuel made from renewable resources or waste, and it has undergone airworthiness certification as well as sustainability validation. Its energy density and volume density are roughly equivalent to those of conventional aviation kerosene; it is fully compatible with existing aircraft and civil aviation infrastructure, and it can reduce carbon emissions across its entire life cycle by up to 85%.
