Based on the reaction process classification, the design institute selects the parameters accordingly.
Simply put (not entirely accurate), distillation involves one or more liquid feed streams (or bubble-point feeds), along with a bottom reboiler or direct steam supply, and a top condenser； In an absorption tower, a gas phase enters from the bottom of the tower, while a liquid phase enters from the top (with possible intermediate circulation feed or heat exchangers) ； In an extraction tower, one liquid phase enters from the bottom of the tower, while another liquid phase enters from the top of the tower (without a reboiler or condenser).
