The recommended operating gas velocity for screen mist eliminators is 50% to 80% of the critical gas velocity. However, in some cases the operating range of such equipment is quite wide (50% to 110%), making it impossible to ensure that the operating gas velocity remains within the recommended range under all operating conditions. How, then, should the size of the screen mist eliminator be determined in such situations? I would appreciate your guidance. Thank you.
80% is the performance limit; it cannot be exceeded even under a 110% load, otherwise normal operation will not be possible. 50% is the economic lower limit; below this value, the economy performs poorly, which is somewhat wasteful
