On the morning of March 15th, Blue Sea New Materials Company held the groundbreaking ceremony for the high-end polyolefin new materials project, marking the official entry into a new phase where the construction of the key facilities will proceed on a full scale. At present, the preparation work for the construction site is nearing completion; 29 out of the 47 main project units have received formal approval. Construction is scheduled to begin on 19 projects in March and 15 projects in April, with all projects set to start by the end of the first half of the year. The Blue Sea New Materials project has a total investment of 50 billion yuan, and it is an important part of the strategic cooperation agreement between China National Petroleum Corporation and Jiangsu Province. Han Yubiao, head of the Comprehensive Department at Blue Sea New Materials (Tongzhou Bay) Co., Ltd., told reporters that in order to promote the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, this project plans to build 18 new chemical processing units, all of which will utilize domestic technology; 16 of these units will employ CNPC’s own proprietary technology. While establishing a high-end chemical new materials industry base, a innovation technology incubation center for China National Petroleum Corporation will be set up to actively develop new processes and products. Three demonstration zones for fine chemicals, biomanufacturing, and intelligent manufacturing will be created, with the goal of building world-class enterprises in the field of high-end chemical new materials.
