What is the purpose of the detection riser installed in a single-layer methanol tank buried in a tank pit?

The single-layer buried methanol tank is designed to be installed in a tank basin, and a testing riser is provided within this basin; however, it’s not clear what purpose the testing riser serves It is used to check areas that are 4 meters deep and in which the bottom cannot be seen; is it meant for installing some kind of detection device?
If the tank leaks, liquid will accumulate in the pool, which is used to detect whether there is a leak in the tank.
It is used to detect whether a tank is leaking; it usually consists of a vertical pipe. An opening is made in the pipe near its bottom, the upper part of the pipe extends above the ground surface and is covered with a flange, while the bottom part is inserted into the collection pit at the bottom of the tank. When the tank leaks, the leaked fluid collects in the collection pit, and samples can be taken through the vertical pipe for testing in order to determine whether the buried tank is leaking.
If the buried tank leaks, it can be detected in the inspection riser
……A leak detector can be installed to give an alarm when there is a leakage of material, which is quite convenient. Apparently, such materials now require the use of buried double-layer storage tanks :)
