Happy May Day 2024! Safety first. Let’s give praise and support to the achievements made in China’s chemical engineering technology and equipment. **********************【Ten Years of Great Development in Chemical Engineering Equipment】A continuously updated summary post is available; feel free to join the discussions at https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-3576046-1-1.html (Source: Haichuan Chemical Industry Forum Website) ***************** On January 10, 2014, Sinopec’s first industrial demonstration project for producing olefins from methanol – the 600,000 tons per year MTO demonstration project at Zhongyuan Petrochemical – completed its acceptance inspection successfully. The completion acceptance committee unanimously agreed that the ethylene feedstock route transformation (MTO) project at Zhongyuan Petrochemical utilized technology independently developed by Sinopec, and its commissioning marked a significant breakthrough for Sinopec in the field of coal chemical industry. The overall layout and design of this project are reasonable, and its process technology is advanced ; After performance testing, all devices met the design requirements in terms of various technical and economic indicators. It is understood that on October 10, 2011, the construction of the 600,000 tons per year MTO demonstration plant was completed safely, with high quality and efficiency, setting a record for the shortest construction time in Sinopec’s history; moreover, the goal of achieving zero major safety, environmental protection, or quality incidents was met. After the demonstration project was completed and put into operation, Zhongyuan Petrochemical continued to optimize and improve its process technologies, addressed any deficiencies in the equipment, and steadily increased its production capacity. Its key performance indicators surpassed those of similar facilities, reaching a world-leading level. The production facility is currently operating smoothly. The 600,000 tons per year MTO demonstration project in the Central Plains is a model project for Sinopec Group to thoroughly implement the scientific development concept, accelerate the transformation of the mode of development, vigorously optimize and adjust the structure, and achieve differentiated development. It holds great significance for promoting the reform and development of Sinopec and enhancing its overall competitiveness. On October 10, 2011, through the concerted efforts and close cooperation of all the participating units, and after 14 months of hard work, the MTO demonstration project was completed safely, to a high standard, and efficiently. The construction of this project set new benchmarks for Sinopec’s project development, achieving the record for the shortest construction period. It was also possible to avoid any major safety, environmental, or quality incidents, thereby fully leveraging Sinopec’s \"end-to-end\" coordination mechanism and \"integrated\" approach. After the MTO demonstration plant was put into operation, Zhongyuan Petrochemical continued to optimize and improve its process technologies, addressed any deficiencies in the equipment, and steadily increased its production capacity. Its key performance indicators surpassed those of similar plants, reaching a world-leading level. At present, the production facility is operating smoothly, and its performance in terms of environmental protection, safety, and quality has been recognized by various regulatory authorities; the benefits of this MTO demonstration plant have thus been fully realized. After thorough discussion and careful consideration, the completion acceptance committee unanimously agreed that the MTO project for the reform of the ethylene feedstock route at Zhongyuan Petrochemical utilized technology independently developed by Sinopec. It represented Sinopec’s first coal chemical demonstration project, and its commissioning marked a significant breakthrough for the company in the field of coal chemistry. The overall layout and design of this project are reasonable, the process technology is advanced, and aspects such as the quality of construction, investment, schedule, and HSE have been effectively controlled. The project was completed on schedule and brought into operation successfully, with the equipment operating well. After performance testing, all units met the design requirements in terms of various technical and economic indicators, and the utility systems and auxiliary facilities were sufficient to meet the production needs ; Fire protection, environmental protection measures, safety facilities, and occupational disease prevention facilities were designed, constructed, and put into use simultaneously with the main project, and special inspections were completed ; The engineering archive materials are complete and well-organized, in compliance with **archive management regulations, and can meet the needs of future production and technical upgrades ; The engineering scraps have been properly disposed of ; The final settlement for completion has been audited, the assets have been transferred, construction costs were well controlled, and the project has achieved good economic and social benefits since it was put into operation. The completion acceptance committee approved the MTO project for completion acceptance.
