As the title suggests, I am looking for the regulations regarding the distance that an accident tank should be kept from surrounding facilities, especially in relation to pipe racks and factory buildings. I checked some standards, but they didn’t seem to provide clear instructions; it seems like there are actually no specific requirements
The distance between the accident tank and structures such as pipe racks and plant buildings should comply with ** or relevant local safety and environmental protection regulations. Typically, these distance requirements are in place to ensure that in the event of an accident, the spread of hazardous materials can be effectively controlled and prevented from threatening the safety of surrounding buildings and people. The specific distance requirements may vary from place to place; it is recommended to consult the local work safety supervision agency or environmental protection department for detailed information. If not specified in the standards, it may be necessary to comprehensively assess the safety distance based on the design characteristics of the accident tank and the hazard level of the materials stored therein. .
In accordance with Article 4.2.8 of the 2018 edition of the \"Fire Protection Design Code for Petrochemical Enterprises (GB50160-2008)\", there is no requirement for a distance to be maintained from pipe racks; as for factories, it depends on whether there are any open-flame devices present.
If 50160 is executed, follow 4.2.8A and the provisions in the explanatory notes. If 50160 is not implemented, we currently follow the design spacing for Class C installations. For reference only

It’s necessary to learn the standards, but it’s quite tricky to find those that suit one’s own actual situation
According to requirement 6.6.3 of GBT 50483-2019, Design Code for Environmental Protection Engineering in Chemical Construction Projects: when accident wastewater contains substances of Category A, Category B, or Category C, the fire hazard classification should be set at Category C; however, under accident conditions, it should be managed as if it were of Category A. If the conditions within the plant allow it, the fire protection distances and distances from pipe racks can be determined with reference to Article 7.3.4 of GB 50489-2009, Code for General Layout and Transportation Design of Chemical Enterprises: a distance of 1.5 m should be maintained between the outer edge of the walls of buildings without doors or windows, or the edge of any protruding parts, and the pipe racks
