China’s First Cogeneration Project Using Pure Rice Husk Fuel Goes Into Operation September 21, 2010, ChinaChem News. On the morning of the 19th, China’s first cogeneration project that uses pure rice husk fuel was officially completed and put into operation in Xingan County, Jiangxi Province. It is understood that this project can achieve an annual generation capacity of 42 million kWh from rice husks, save 140,000 tons of standard coal per year, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 40,000 tons annually. This not only helps to conserve resources but also reduces the environmental pollution caused by the accumulation and burning of rice husks, enabling the effective utilization of renewable resources and reducing reliance on non-renewable energy sources. The person in charge of Jiangxi Jinjia Grain Biomass Energy Co., Ltd., the company behind the project, explained that construction of this project began in 2005; it utilizes foreign environmental protection equipment and advanced technologies to turn waste rice husks into valuable resources. It represents a complete circular economy chain that makes use of rice in every possible way, and it is the first project in the country to generate electricity using 100% rice husks as a biomass renewable energy source.
