CNOOC Engineering Wins $4 Billion EPC Contract in Qatar 2025-09-02 15:25:48 Recently, China National Offshore Oil Corporation Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNOOC Engineering) announced that it has successfully won two contracts for the development of the Bul Hanine (BH) oil field in Qatar, with a total contract value of $4 billion. This represents a new record for Chinese companies in terms of the value of offshore oil and gas project contracts in the Middle East, signaling further progress in China’s capabilities in international offshore oil and gas project construction. It holds great significance for advancing high-quality oil and gas cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. It is reported that the owner of this project is QatarEnergy, and the construction site is located in Qatar’s waters in the Gulf of Persia. The project comprises four phases: new construction, underwater work, renovation, and decommissioning. CNOOC Engineering submitted bids for two of these phases. The main tasks of the project include the construction of multiple structures, the laying of several submarine cables, and the renovation of some existing facilities. The company stated that if this project is officially signed and implemented successfully, it will represent a significant breakthrough in the further advancement of the company’s strategy for the Middle East. This will have a positive impact on the company’s performance, help to promote its future business development, and lay a solid foundation for the company’s overseas strategic planning.
