Certifications I currently hold include Certified First/Second-Class Constructor, Safety Officer Certificates of Type C/B, and Certified Public Equipment Engineer (Power). 1. Are there any good methods for revising assembly standards and minor regulations? . A: Assembly procedures and textbooks represent two different systems. For some major categories of questions, assembly procedures are used more frequently; for example, in the area of gas, codes related to urban gas and industrial gas safety are often applied. In other areas, such as boilers and combustion, these codes are used less often. It’s necessary to work on many questions – by referring to the relevant provisions for each question – in order to gain a good understanding. The new minor codes were introduced for the first time in the exams back in 2014; in the calculation-based questions, at least 5 questions involved content from these new minor codes. It’s possible to make comparisons, or one can simply focus on the new minor codes alone. When looking at the specifications, one thing to keep in mind is that there are many items that aren’t useful and therefore don’t need to be considered at all (such as electrical instruments). For example, the specifications for boiler rooms contain various details related to electrical instruments, but those details are completely unnecessary to pay attention to. In exams, questions related to instruments appear at most in contexts concerning the layout of the boiler room, such as the distance between the boiler and the walls of the boiler room, or the spacing between instruments. Detailed information on which instruments should be used has never been asked about from 2006 to 2014. 2. Indeed, no registrations have been accepted nationwide yet, and there is no official announcement regarding whether the exams will be suspended. When I replied, I added the QQ account of the training course; the instructor there posted something on QQ regarding the notice of postponing the registration for the 2015 Survey and Design Engineer examinations. At present, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is working together with relevant departments to consider adjustments to the fees and management methods related to these examinations. It’s difficult to determine exactly when the official documents for the 2015 Survey and Design Engineer examinations will be issued; therefore, registration for the national registered survey and design engineer examinations in 2015 is postponed. According to the data I found at that time (which may not be comprehensive due to my limited capabilities), there were only slightly over 20,000 professionals in the three relevant fields (heating, ventilation, power, and water supply) combined. This figure is not in line with the large number of design institutes existing in China; many of these institutes actually use the qualifications of other larger firms. If all of them were to change their status immediately, it would certainly have a significant impact on the industry. If a new registration certificate system were to be established from scratch, it would inevitably create a great deal of instability for the current practitioners (especially those in large enterprises). Given the current efforts under the Belt and Road Initiative to carry out many projects in Asia, such complications should be avoided in favor of stability. The best approach would be to build on the existing system of registered construction engineers, and over a few years of transition period (similar to the shift from project manager certificates to construction engineer certificates), gradually establish an industry association management system (following the model of the Construction Engineers Association in the UK). From this perspective, the current suspension of registration seems to be aimed at laying the institutional groundwork for this transition, in order to prevent new regulations from being introduced during the examination period that would be inconsistent with the existing examination strategies and lead to chaos in the examinations. Based on this, I judge that it probably won’t be canceled. In the future, the certification for registered equipment engineers is likely to become more standardized. It will undoubtedly be valuable for the industry, while for individuals, its value depends on their career aspirations. If one is not in the relevant industry but is merely a pure GK, then they are likely to become something that gets eliminated by the new management standards. For those who are engaged in related design work, that is, the actual professionals in this field, it should have no impact; on the contrary, it will even add value to their qualifications.

There is no standard textbook for the basic exam; anything suitable will do. I went to the bookstore by myself to choose one, depending on my own needs. I picked a book that included explanations of definitions, example problems, and practice exercises. You only need to read the book once; the main thing is to work on past exam questions, which are available for download on forums. By working through these questions several times, you’ll basically understand where the examination focuses lie. This book is only for basic knowledge; you need to buy another one for professional fundamentals as well.
