If described, is such an arrangement reasonable?
Why can’t the heat exchanger have fluid entering from below and exiting from above?
1. The heat exchanger should be arranged horizontally to minimize the formation of liquid pockets; 2. The feed inlet in the storage tank should extend to the bottom of the tank
The feed to the storage tank goes deep into the bottom, and the heat exchanger is vertical. I just think that the heat exchanger is positioned too low; perhaps the outlet should be placed at a higher level than the feed inlet of the storage tank.
There is no need to set it too high, unless there are specific requirements in the process or limitations on pipeline pressure drop; the main consideration should be whether it facilitates operation and maintenance; I don’t know the size of your heat exchanger or whether there is enough space for maintenance.
The medium should enter from the bottom of the heat exchanger and exit from the top (in from below, out from above). The pipe entering the tank should extend to the bottom of the tank and then turn upward using two elbows; a small hole should be made at the top of this pipe inside the tank to prevent siphoning when the pump is stopped. An exhaust port is added at the bottom of the heat exchanger to facilitate maintenance.
This is a water cooler, with the process medium (heat medium) entering from the top and exiting from the bottom. The heat exchanger is arranged horizontally.
